Welcoming
Editor Robert Dalva A.C.E. :
Oscar nominated Editor Robert Dalva will share experiences from his long career. To ask better questions please see Captain America while it is still in the theatres - and you are welcome to ask about working on a film successfully converted to 3D.
Likely Mr. Dalva will show clips from the movie "Hidalgo" and talk about the challenges he faced and solutions. Mr. Dalva's work has exhibit considerable mastery of visual storytelling often with films that have long sequences of visual action with little or no dialogue. Examples of this are the films "Hidalgo", "Jumanji" and "The Black Stallion." nominated for the Oscar for Best Editing.

Michael Krulik, AVID
Michael is a master at "the demo". He has a way of showing a room full of people as if you were one person sitting at his side. We have specifically asked him to show basics, and how tos of using AVID Media Composer 5.5. For those who are AVID familiar or proficient he will also talk about new features such as "phrase find" and how they improve your work efficiency.
There are no "silly" questions regarding AVID for this evening- there are just questions asked, or not asked. Many people are not happy with the direction they see being forged by FCPX. If you need something else to do your work we will help support you finding what you need. Media Composer 5.5 does run on a Mac and can be run from a laptop.

Viva!
